Forty-two years ago, Joel Neuschwander was working full-time as a psychologist in the Portland and Beaverton school district. As a hobby, he grew several varieties of pine and fir on 115 acres of land in Hubbard, OR. It was not long, however, before his love for plants took over and growing became a full-fledged business: Neuschwander's Nursery.
As the business expanded, the focus shifted from Christmas trees to ornamental plants. Over time, the nursery came to specialize in growing quality Japanese Maples, Conifers, and Broadleaf Evergreens.
Today, Neuschwander's Nursery has expanded to over 300 acres of high quality outdoor growing space which is mostly dedicated to its nursery stock.
